Dominic is still getting to know baby "Meva" -- we haven't decided whether to keep her or send her back.




Neva's wardrobe will be huge when she gets big enough to fit into any of it. Right now, she's just starting to grow too big for the preemie stuff and getting into newborn size. She weighed 6 lb 14 oz at her 5 day appointment. At her 2 week appointment, she weighed a whopping 7 lb 10.5 oz! So we're moving on up -- got to catch up with big brother Dominic!


This is Dominic's baby -- not Neva! He loves the chair that Aunt Connie got for Neva -- we finally had to put this in the closet until the babe is big enough to sit in it.

One of my favorite things is when Dominic walks up to Neva and says "That's a sweet girl!"

Little Lady Goes Home

Well, we checked out this morning and got little Neva home at last! Big brother Dominic doesn't quite know what to think -- he finally went over to her bassinet and said "Hey Meva." So I guess she'll have to go by Meva for awhile.

Dominic meets Neva for the first time. It was a full time job keeping him from taking Neva from Bryan! Dominic kept saying "my wister, my wister. Want hold Neva!"

Neva Arrives!!!

This morning, October 30, 2008, Neva Gianni Sizemore Vernetti was born at 7:58 a.m. She weighs 7 pounds and is 18 1/4 inches long. Both Samantha and Neva are doing great. Enjoy the photos.

Coming Attractions ...

Neva will be here about 7:30 tomorrow morning. The hospital has wireless internet, so we'll try to get some photos up as soon as possible. (By "we", I mean Bryan.) We check in at 5 a.m. while the Dom sleeps in at G-Dad's house. Bloodwork first - then I get some groovy happy drugs before they poke a hole in my back. Bryan is requesting some groovy happy drugs for himself, but so far no one is cooperating on that score. :-) By the time Dominic's school starts tomorrow, he'll be a big brother!

Baby Brother

A couple of days ago, Dominic was eating a snack and sort of watching TV when he started saying "baby brother" over and over again. I corrected him and told him he was getting a baby sister for Halloween, but he persisted with the baby brother thing. I thought maybe he was seeing it on TV. I finally looked down at him -- he had his shirt pulled up and was pointing to HIS belly!

Yesterday, I found him on the couch with my doppler monitor listening to baby brother. He's not confused at all -- Mama has baby sister in her belly and he's got baby brother in his belly!

I just hope he isn't disappointed when only one of us has a baby!

We're Back!

So after my sister bullied me into starting a myspace page, I have developed an interest in keeping up this blog for those who aren't myspacers (kind of like me 4 weeks ago). So ...

The biggest news is that Dominic is getting a baby sister for Halloween. So 34 days from now, we'll hopefully have some photos of baby Neva on board.

Bryan ran for school board this term and won!

Samantha is back in law school and will graduate (for the last time) next May.

Dominic got two new cousins this year -- one on each side of the family. Daniel and Autumn are his favorite playmates when he gets to play with them! (Photos coming soon)

Naturally, our world revolves around Dominic (until October 30, of course). He started preschool this year and loves his teachers and friends there. He started a tumbling class earlier this month - we'll have to see how that goes. Sometimes, he has a hard time waiting in line to work with the teacher.
